Previewing UAB's 2009 football schedule: SMU The Blazers second game of the season will be against SMU on Sept. 12 at Legion Field. The Blazers open with consecutive home conference games for the first time in its history. UAB has not even opened with two consecutive home games but once before, in 1993 when it opened at home against Troy State and Morehead State. SMU is trying to rebound from the terrible 1-11 mark the Mustangs posted last season in June Jones' first year as head coach.
